The following specialization courses have been proposed to enhance the students’ skills in their PhD research curriculum: linguistic and computer science seminars, a research management and European and International research system knowledge management seminar, as well as a seminar on the optimization of research results and intellectual properties.

Course type

Brief description of the course

Linguistics

A 10-hour seminar cycle on “Scientific Research Writing” for non-native English students. Topics of the seminar:

1. How to write an introduction

2. Writing about methodology

3. Writing about results

4. Writing the discussion/conclusion

5. Writing the abstract

Computer Science

A 10-hour seminar cycle on “Information Technology Outlook” with topics related to the most advanced fields in information technology (e.g. cloud computing, big data, social computing)

Research management, research system knowledge and funding systems

A 10-hour seminar cycle on the following topics:

1. Research projects

1.1. Overview of European and national research systems

1.2. Research project processing

1.3  Management control

1.4. Balance sheets

2.     Research evaluation

2.1. The ANVUR and its activities

2.2. Project evaluation protocols and processes

 

Optimization of research results and intellectual properties

A 10-hour seminar cycle on:

1. Technological transfer

2. Business relationships

3. Copyright and licenses

4. University spin-offs

5. Scientific popularization
